RDW HIGHLIGHTS OF THE APRIL 2009 MEETING

The April meeting was called to order at 12 PM by Co-President Ginny in the lovely
country home of Shirley who opened with reading of the Clipped Wings' Creed.  Eight members were present.* The minutes of the last meeting were approved.  Treasurer Carol's report showed no change.
An ad on our tote bags has been submitted to the Clipped Wings Quarterly.
"IN THE MOOD"There will be no printed tickets for "In the Mood."  Buyer's checks will be their reservation.  Price is $25 per ticket.  ($20 Tax Deductible).  We are in need of items for the raffle.  Trays
were distributed and chapter members are asked to put together  a small tray of what they might be making for the play.  This will act as our lunch at the next C.W. meeting at Chris' on May 20th.  Since the "Y" will not be printing tickets for us, we are hopeful that they will print flyers instead.

NEW BUSINESS
We need a date and members to sell tickets (an possibly raffle tickets) at Windsor Wal*Mart.
The uniform exhibit is up and running at the Pacific Coast Air Museum.
June 3rd, our National President, Pam Z., will be our honored guest at our theater benefit and spend the night at Dona's; followed by a June 4th combo MAR/RDW luncheon/meeting at the airport; followed by a two-chapter tour of the PCAM exhibits.  She will have dinner with the MAR members that night -- spending the night of 6/4 at MAR Co-President Stevie's. A MAR member will take her to the airport on June 5th
to return to OMA.
Charity hours are to be turned in to Ginny.  (Include your scarf-knitting and bag-stuffing hours).
Material for the Blog should be submitted to Marilyn.
Unique "Domino Pins" were displayed which we could sell at convention and Founders' Day.  They will be displayed at the May meeting for a decision on whether or not to purchase for resale.  The "button" pins may perhaps be made at our September meeting.
The meeting was adjourned at 1:12 PM

Respectfully submitted,
June

RDW Highlights of March 2009 meeting.

Meeting came to order at 11:45 after lunch in the cafeteria at the Jelly Belly Factory.
Suzy read the creed. After some minor changes were made toFebruary's minutes,
they were approved. Carol, our treasurer reported that there were no changes.

An update on our blog was given by Marilyn.  Send in all your individual stories
and she will post them.  Everyone agreed she's doing a fantastic job in setting up
and maintaining our blog.

Possible raffle donation were discussed to be part of our fund-raising. Pat
offered a gift certificate from the nursery, Ginny and Shirley will try for some
premium wines.   We still need members to come up with more ideas to raffle.
Raffle tickets will be sold openly and one does not need to be present to win.  All
donations are tax deductible.

KC's Downtown Grill on the Windsor Town Center has
donated "frequent diner's" cards. (See G & G posting) Napa
members have donated theirs to members of the Windsor
Senior Center who will be in better position to use them.
When they register them for ClippedWings/RDW, we will
be the ones who benefit.

Chris discussed the need to bring in new members.
Please contact anyone you think might be interested
and invite them to one of our next meetings.  April meeting: PLEASE
NOTE, the April meeting will be held one day early on Tuesday, not
Wednesday, at Shirley's in Napa. We are asking that everyone
RSVP whether you plan to attend or not.  We will be discussing the play.
Ginny will be bringing 2 trays for everyone to fill up with canape’s to bring to the
play, keeping with tradition of the era of the play.

PCAM:  Our UAL Stewardess/ Flight Attendant display will be up on Tues.
March 24th.  The museum is open 10-4 on Tues., Thurs., Sat. and Sun.

Please help support the Marin chapter’s play on April 1. They need the ticket
sales and have been great in helping support our charity events.

The meeting was adjourned for a tour of the Jelly Belly. Marilyn heard from
one of their employees that a bus load of Southwest flight attendants had
taken the tour before us that morning.  It was a fun tour and we all
came away a “ little sweeter” than when we arrived.  We had our picture taken
there and Suzy donated it to the scrapbook.

“Little Me”

Music - Cy Coleman, Lyrics -Carolyn Leigh, Book - Neil Simon

Probably the best musical comedy you've never heard of, “Little Me” is a whopping, whirling satire on the familiar "as told to" show biz biography. In this case, the Hollywood back-story is that of Belle Poitrine (French for "beautiful bosoms") a buxom blonde bimbo and queen of the silver screen. Follow her epic romances and rise to ascendance over the bodies of husbands, lovers and acquaintances who meet untimely deaths in her vicinity.

For tickets contact MAR Co-President Diane (listed in your blue rosters as RDW Affiliate)
